Holy Family

(Last week's Bulletin is here...)

From Father Dennis:

Father Dennis I found the spirit of our Christmas liturgies to be contagious. Everything seemed to fall into place. I felt (and still feel) very fortunate to be here in this community for the celebration of the Savior's birth. I am very thankful for the "gift" these days has been. And now a New Year is here - another gift that holds the promise of God's ever-new and always surprising love. I welcome the New Year and the challenges it presents to us to continue to grow as a Christian community active in the wider community in wholesome and healing ways.

Lynn, the art teacher with SORICO, shared her very great talent with us in an illuminated verse that has been placed near the manger at the foot of the altar: "Were Christ to be born in a thousand stables it would be of no avail were he not born in our hearts." They are the words of the mystic Meister Eckhart. They are worth taking to heart as we continue to live this graced Christmastide and enter into the New Year together.

This week's bulletin is the last one that will be done by Heasun Cho. She is taking a much deserved and needed break from this weekly task. Heasun, you may know her as one of our fine lectors, is the graphic artist who designed our new bulletin. She has also been the chief editor of it for the past year. We owe her a huge debt of gratitude for the many hours of work it represents. She did not have an easy time trying to get me to meet deadlines. She was always patient. Jane Allen will assume her work in the Parish Office. Dee Scanlon who has been there since the beginning behind the scenes proofreading and making many other very valuable suggestions will ably assist Jane. Thanks, Heasun! Thanks, Dee! Good luck, Jane!
