Since 1875, St. Bernard's has welcomed Roman Catholics from Wickford and the surrounding area to worship at its altar. Over the years, it has grown in many ways, including its physical size and in the number of parishioners who make up the parish community. What began as a small building on a little piece of land has grown to include several renovations that have resulted in the current church, the rectory and the parish center. And, we continue to grow. In 2001, the Davis family donated a parcel of land (at Tower Hill and Ten Rod Roads, Routes 1 and 102) for the construction of a new church. Construction is now complete, and the new St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church was dedicated by Bishop Tobin on 15 August, 2009. For more information about St. Bernard's, please check out the links on this Web site or contact the parish center at 295-0387, or send us an email at parishcenter@sbcwickford.org. If you are a new parishioner, please complete the registration form and drop in the collection basket on Sunday, or mail/fax it to, or drop it off at, the parish center.

The logo chosen for this Year of Evangelization (featured on the banners outside the Church and in the Gathering Space) tries to visually suggest that it is Jesus Himself who invites us to return to God with all our hearts. As Pope John Paul II said: “it is our task as believers not only to speak of Christ but to show Christ to others.” Let’s be creative in finding opportunities to do so in the coming weeks!
