Steering Committee Update

Click here to view at full size. The Steering Committee has been working all spring with our architect, Michael Viveiros, to modifying the design documents for the new church on the Davis property. In order to stay within our budget on Phase I of the project, the committee has been reworking the design and program for the new church. Concessions are being made in size, roofing and flooring material and the facade, just to mention a few changes. Adjustments in the orientation of the building and the size of the parking lot are also being considered in order to stay within our budget. Any changes in the design documents must take in consideration any future additions to the parish campus. Phase II will include administrative office space, gathering areas and classrooms. Our goal is the build a first class new facility to meet all the needs of our growing parish. A gala ground-breaking celebration is planned for the fall of 2007. Details to follow!

A Bird's Eye View

The steering committee has contracted Don Bousquet and Son Aerial Photography to do a series of aerial photos of the site of the new church, thanks to the generosity of two parishioners who offered to pay for the photos. Don and his son, Nate, use a 1.5-pound radio-controlled aircraft that carries a compact digital camera.

The photo below (click on photo to view at full size) was taken in March 2007 and shows the site prior to construction. Plans are being made to take more pictures to document progress on the site and the new church building.

For more information about Don Bousquet and Son see their web site at http://bousquetaerials.com
